Hi, I’m Melisa — welcome to Crockmeals!
If you’ve ever come home exhausted after a long day, stared into the fridge, and had zero energy left to cook a real meal — I get it. That’s exactly why this site exists.
Good food shouldn’t be complicated. I started Crockmeals because I believe the slow cooker is the most underrated piece of equipment in most kitchens — and that it deserved better recipes. Real ones. Properly tested. Written for people with actual lives, not food bloggers with all day to babysit a pot.
Why I started this
Most slow cooker content online is an afterthought — recipes reprinted from decades ago, under-tested shortcuts, or a list of ingredients thrown in a pot with no real thought for flavor. I wanted something better.
Every recipe on Crockmeals goes through at least three test cooks before it’s published. I tweak the seasoning, test both LOW and HIGH settings, and write the instructions the way I’d want them written if I were the one cooking after a 10-hour day — clear, honest, and no guesswork.
Somewhere along the way, my family and friends started calling me the “Crockpot Queen,” because I use my slow cooker for just about everything. Weeknight dinners, Sunday meal prep, holiday sides — if it can go in the crockpot, it probably has.
I’m not a professional chef. I’m someone juggling work and family life, just like you, trying to put good food on the table without spending every free hour in the kitchen. That’s what every recipe here is built for.
